For immediate release,

Imperial, PA

It was a beautiful, late summer evening at Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile with the RUSH Sprint Car Series in town for an action event. PPMS would see six heat races and six feature events. Jeremy Weaver (41), from Stoneboro, would pick up his first career RUSH Sprint Car feature win. Two-time defending Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series champion Justin Lamb (93X), from Findlay Township, picked up the win in the 20-lap feature after a spirited battle with series points leader, Ben Policz (14B), from Rices Landing. In PPMS Pro Stock action, Nick Kocuba (10), from Bulger picked up his first win of the season, while Stephen Shelpman (17S), from Pleasant Hills, brought home his seventh win of the season in the Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stock division. Philip Bubeck (2L), from Washington, picked up his second win in a row in the Four Cylinder division, while Susie Rudolph (55), from Steubenville, Ohio, grabbed her twelfth win of the season in the Young Guns division.

In the RUSH Sprint Car Series 20-lap feature, David Hawkins (27D), from Lower Burrell, was the pole-sitter. To his outside and starting in second was Jeremy Weaver (41). The second row consisted of Brian Ruhlman (49), from Clark Lake, Michigan, starting in third, and Zach Morrow (27M), from Gibsonia, starting in fourth. When the green flag dropped, Weaver (41) would grab the early lead. With Weaver (41) still leading on lap three, Morrow (27M) would make his way up to second place behind the leader. On lap four, Weaver (41) led the field with Morrow (27M) in second, Hawkins (27D) in third, and Ruhlman (49) in fourth. That order would remain the same through lap 15 when Weaver (41) began to lead the field through lapped-traffic. Weaver (41) would lead the remaining laps of the event picking up his first career RUSH Sprint Car Series victory with the race going green to checkered in record fashion. Following Weaver (41) to the line was Morrow (27M) in second, Hawkins (27D) in third, Ruhlman (49) in fourth, Brian Hartzell (69) in fifth, Steve Pedley (21) in sixth, Greg Beach (33) in seventh, and Matt Sherlock iii (55) completed the eight-car field. Weaver (41) also won the heat race.

In the Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series 20-lap feature, fans were treated to some of the best racing of the night. Justin Lamb (93X) would start on the pole with Daryl Charlier (42S), from Midway to his outside in second place. Christian Schneider (1ST), from Warren, Ohio, started in third place, while Ron Hall (01), from Hookstown, started in fourth. When the green flag waved, the field would hardly get through turn two when a few cars would get together and bring out the yellow. The field would reassemble for a complete restart and when green replaced yellow, Lamb (93X) would keep the early lead, while Policz (14B) was on the move from his tenth place starting spot. Lap three had Lamb (93X) still leading with Schneider (1ST) in second, Charlier (42S) in third, and Policz (14B) was already up to fourth place. Then Policz (14B) would take the third spot from Charlier (42S) on lap four, knocking Charlier (42S) down to fourth. The event’s second caution would come only five laps in, slowing the pace. Lamb (93X) would choose the inside on the restart with Schneider (1ST) in second, Policz (14B) in third, Charlier (42S) in fourth, and Zach Gunn (17G) in fifth. The restart was called back when the 3J of Paul Jablonski jumped the start and was sent to the rear of the field, despite already being at the rear of the field. A complete restart would ensue and when the green flag dropped, Lamb (93X) would once again keep the lead with Policz (14B) now in second, and Tommy Schirnhofer (8S) up to third place. Lamb (93X) would lead through lap eight and on lap nine, Policz (14B) would take over the lead. The halfway point had Policz (14B) leading the field with Lamb (93X) in second, Schirnhofer (8S) in third, Charlier (42) in fourth, and Schneider (1ST) in fifth. Another caution would come on lap 14 for the 3J of Paul Jablonski, which was his third caution in the race and he was sent to the pits. Policz (14B) would choose the inside on the restart and when the green flag waved, Lamb (93X) would retake the lead with six laps to go in the event, but Policz (14B) would take the lead back on the next lap. With Policz (14B) taking the white flag and seeming like he had another PPMS win, the caution would come out on the white flag lap for oil on the race track from Schneider’s 1ST car. A two-lap shootout would ensue and when the green flag dropped for the final time in the event, Lamb (93X) would retake the lead at the line. Lamb (93X) would hold off Policz (14B) and the rest of the field for another PPMS Victory. He was followed to the by Policz (14B) in second, Schirnhofer (8S) in third, Mollick (60M) in fourth, Z. Gunn (17G) in fifth, Ryan Frazee (11F) in sixth, Charlier (42S) in seventh, Braeden Dillinger (14D) in eighth, Bill Kessler (09) in ninth, and Schneider (1ST) rounded out the top ten. The event’s first caution came on lap three when the 67X of Danny Rich would stop between turns three and four. Kocuba (10) would lead the field on the restart and would keep the lead when the field returned to green flag conditions. Lap seven had Kocuba (10) leading, with A.J. Poljak (36) in second, Daryl Charlier (18) in third, Dave McManus (114) in fourth, and Chase Lambert (22JR) in fifth.
