Inside Line Promotions – BEDFORD, Pa. (June 9, 2015) – Dale Blaney put together a solid weekend with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions to maintain his lead in the championship standings.

Blaney recorded a pair of top-six results in the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports sprint car, giving him 22 top 10s in 30 races this season.

The weekend began last Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pa., where Blaney qualified fifth quickest overall.

“I hadn’t been there since 1996,” he said. “The track was pretty slick. We went out pretty late and qualified pretty well.”

Blaney then won his heat race after starting fourth to lock himself into the dash, where he finished second to garner a starting spot on the outside of the front row for the main event.

“We were pretty good early in the A Main and then (Greg) Wilson was just way better than everybody else,” he said. “The groove got lower than I thought it was going to get. He was way better than I was. If the groove stayed in the middle I would have had a shot.”

Blaney led the first seven laps before Wilson took command en route to the victory. Blaney held on for the second-place finish to garner his 14th top five of the year.

“Greg runs really well there,” he said. “I knew if it got really low I’d get too tight. I guess that’s the chance you take. If the track stayed up a ways I felt like I wanted to have the car tight enough to run up there. Overall it was a good night. If we don’t run that great and run second that’s a good night.”

The weekend concluded on Sunday at Bedford Speedway, where Blaney made his debut.

“I’ve heard some stories about it,” he said. “It’s really a different place. You’re going downhill down the frontstretch and uphill the backstretch. It’s fairly narrow. For never being there I felt like we qualified ok.”

Blaney timed in third quickest before placing fourth in a heat race. His qualifying effort locked him into the dash, where he finished seventh. That lined the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored sprint car up on the inside of the fourth row for the main event.

“I just got stuck in a bad spot the first two corners and it got me behind, but I felt like I had a good car,” he said. “I got to fifth late and Lucas Wolfe passed me with about five laps to go. He showed me on how to get around there better. Once I started following him I got a little better, but it was a little too late.”

Blaney ended with a sixth-place result.

He is slated to tackle an All Star tripleheader this weekend with races on Thursday at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in Canandaigua, N.Y., Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Saturday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa.

“We’ve been pretty good everywhere we’ve gone,” he said. “We were third the last time at the Grove. I feel like we’re going to have a really good motor and hopefully we can go out there and run good. It all starts with qualifying. Any time you go to Central PA you always get fired up.”
