Precise RUSH Late Models
Kyle Lukon took off in his Rocket ship at the drop of the green to take the lead in the first 25 lap RUSH Sizzler of the young season at PPMS. New York driver Randy Hall in the Suppa mount kept Lukon in his sight the first several circuits, but every time he started to gain a bit, Lukon seemed to sense it and opened the gap back up. The caution waved mid race and reset the deck. Hall slipped back a bit on the restart as Daryl Charlier came charging and looked to be the next driver that would challenge Lukon. Meanwhile opening night winner Holtgraver was methodically working his way through the field from the 8 hole. By lap 20, a normal nights feature length Lukon looked to be the winner, but Holtgraver had some ideas of his own for the extra 5 laps that come with the $1,000 to win Spring Sizzler. He had found the fast line around the Monster and was reeling Lukon in. The duo waged a great door to door battle for a few circuits, then Holtgraver slipped by on lap 23 to lead the final 3 laps. Randy Hall recovered from his restart woes to finish 3rd, followed by Charlier and Moats. Heats went to Holtgraver and Scott Gunn. Precise RUSH Late Model racing at DIRTS MONSTER HALF MILE continues next Sat night May 9th with a regular RUSH weekly racing series program.

Sunoco Sportsman
The car count was low as several racers still are not ready, but the competition was high among the racers on hand in the Sunoco Sportsman division. Josh Langer, subbing for Billy Robertson and young Todd Weldon won the heats and looked to be the hot shoes of the evening. Ricky Steigerwald jumped out to lead the first 3 circuits of the Sportsman feature, while Kocuba was in hot pursuit from his 3rd starting position. Kocuba took the lead on lap 4 while Langer was making his way to second. Langer seemed to enjoy wheeling the Robertson mount as he put heavy pressure on Kocuba the remaining distance, but the veteran Kocuba prevailed for his first feature win of 2015. Weldon, Steigerwald, and Poljak rounded out the top 5.

Black also slipped by Wiser followed by Ramsey, and young Jacob Wiser.
