Old School Racing’s Tankersley Venturing to VANKOR Texas Sprint Car Nationals

Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (Oct. 29, 2019) – Channin Tankersley will wrap up his season this week when he tackles the Tony Stewart presents the VANKOR Texas Sprint Car Nationals.

The Old School Racing driver is slated to compete on Thursday and Friday at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track in Fort Worth, Texas, during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader.

“It’s one of my favorite tracks when it’s right,” he said. “It’s big enough that you can really get going, but the way it’s configured you can still race. Most of the time whenever the track is in decent shape you can race the bottom to the middle to the top. You have options.”

Tankersley earned a career-best sixth-place finish at the track in 2013 and 2014. He also charged from 20th to ninth in 2014 and from 14th to eighth in 2015. Tankersley captured a pair of top 15s in 2016 during his most recent time at the event.

“We’ve had several top 10s and run decent,” he said. “We want to finish the year off strong. We’ve been pretty quick everywhere we’ve went this year. If we could run in the top five both nights that’d be the cherry on top.”

Tankersley has a trio of wins and nine top fives in 15 races this season. He also recorded the ASCS Gulf South Region championship for the fourth time in the last six years.
