Hill Wrapping Up ASCS National Tour Season This Week in Texas

Inside Line Promotions – SIX NATIONS, Ontario, Canada (Oct. 29, 2019) – Alex Hill is eager to return to Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track this week as the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour puts a wrap on its 2019 season.

“I’ve raced at Texas Motor Speedway about four or five times and I enjoy the track,” she said. “It’s big and wide – the type of track I like racing on.”

While Hill has shown steady improvement this season, few breaks have gone her way recently. She’s hoping that will change this week and she can close out her racing season on a high note this Thursday and Friday during the Tony Stewart presents the VANKOR Texas Sprint Car Nationals at the oval in Fort Worth, Texas.

“We’ve had a pretty good year,” she said. “But not much has gone our way lately. We haven’t drawn well and we’ve raced on tracks where it’s been really difficult to pass in the heat races, which makes it a challenge to get passing points to transfer to the feature. It would be nice to draw a little better this weekend. But it is what it is and we’ll do our best no matter what happens.”

While Hill missed racing last weekend during a rare time away from the track, she didn’t miss the airports and airplanes that usually consume much of her time each week as she commutes to race tracks from Los Angeles, where she is a full-time college student.

“While I love to race, I didn’t miss the traveling last weekend,” she said. “I returned to school 11 weeks ago and this was the second weekend that I didn’t fly somewhere to race. I usually fly on Thursday and Sunday. But the travel comes with it and I’m thankful I’m able to race while going to school.”
