Bryant Heading into Texas Sprint Car Nationals With Confidence

Inside Line Promotions – THE WOODLANDS, Texas (April 5, 2017) – A win two weeks ago has given Tommy Bryant a ton of confidence.
He is eager to continue that success when he and the SawBlade.com sponsored Cooper Motorsports team heads to Tony Stewart’s Texas Sprint Car Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track in Fort Worth, Texas, this Friday and Saturday. The event features the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour and coincides with the NASCAR weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway “big track.”
“When you get a win early in the season, it pumps everyone up on the team,” Bryant said. “I have confidence and we know the car has speed. Now we just need to get some luck. The key is consistency and to play off last weekend’s success. You have to get a good heat race result and follow that up with a good qualifier to put yourself in a great position in the feature.”
Bryant is confident he will improve on last May’s showing at the Texas Sprint Car Nationals, which yielded a pair of top-15 finishes.
“We have some good notes and I feel we have this car figured out so we know where to start on the setup,” he said. “We just need some luck with the pill draw and need to go forward every time we hit the track. Last year we would have a good heat and then go backwards in the qualifier, which would put us in a bad starting spot for the feature.”
With former NASCAR champion Tony Stewart’s name attached to this year’s Texas Sprint Car Nationals as well as a live video internet broadcast on LucasOilRacingTV.com and future television broadcast on MAVTV, the drive to win at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track is even higher for Bryant. He is also excited Stewart – who scored a 360ci sprint win last weekend in Florida – might be helping with track preparation as he has at other dirt venues during the past couple of years.
“Last year the track took rubber in hot laps,” Bryant said. “We went through 12 sets of tires for the weekend. I’m hoping Tony will help with track prep and we’ll have a good surface. I’m excited to show some new fans how exciting sprint car racing is.”
