Rain Pushes Senoia's HTF Series Race to Sunday Afternoon

SENOIA, Ga. (Aug. 17) — Heavy thunderstorms that hit the track during heat races for Saturday’s Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series event at Senoia Raceway forced track and series officials to postpone the remainder of the night’s $15,000-to-win program to Sunday afternoon.

The event will resume on Sunday with six laps remaining in the fourth and final HTF Series heat race. The slate will also include two HTF Series last chance qualifiers, the 50-lap HTF Series feature, plus a 40-lap feature for the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series and four local division features.

Three of the event’s four HTF Series heat races were completed before rain hit Saturday evening. Sam Seawright of Fort Payne, Ala, won the first heat, Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Ga., won heat two, and Payton Freeman of Commerce, Ga., won heat three. Michael Page of Douglasville, Ga., was leading Ashton Winger of Hampton, Ga., and Zach Mitchell of Enoree, S.C., in the fourth heat race when rain stopped the program.

Sunday’s on-track action is scheduled to get under way at 1 p.m. eastern time. Pit gates will open at 10 a.m. and general admission gates will open at 11. A church service will be held in the grandstands at 11:30. Every lap of racing for all divisions in action on Sunday will be streamed live at www.huntthefront.tv.
