Terry Walker Memorial Next For Dirt2Media NOW600 At Port City Raceway
Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (May 2, 2023) Back at Port City Raceway on Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6, the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division headlines the sixth annual Terry Walker Memorial.
Off a two-night run at Sweet Springs Motorsports Park this past weekend that saw four drivers adding their names to the list of NOW600 winners, action this week will take on some of the toughest weekly competition in Micro racing.
Three trips to the one-fifth-mile oval this year have yielded three winners in four feature events. Jett Nunley doubled up in Restricted competition during the Milestone Home Service Co. Outlaw Nationals presented by T2 Promotions. Joining the POWRi Turn Pike Challenge, Shawn Mahaffey topped A-Class, with Braxton Weger getting the Restricted win.
Looking back through the history of the Terry Walker Memorial finale, Frank Flud has four A-Class wins and a pair of Non-Wing triumphs. Garrett Benson, with two wins in Restricted, is the only other driver who holds multiple wins in the event’s five outings. Other winners include Chris Cochran, Cooper Miller, Garth Kasiner, Gavan Boschele, Harley Hollan, Jake Rosario, and Ryan Timms.

Going into this weekend’s Terry Walker Memorial, Shawn Mahaffey’s second non-wing win of the season has elevated him to the top of Non-Wing standings by one over Frank Flud. A-Class continues to be led by Brecken Reese, while Cale Lagroon has taken command of Restricted points over Carson Bolden.
Along with the three core divisions of the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division, the weekend will include Sportsman and Junior Sprints. Normal NOW600 format applies to A-Class, Non-Wing, and Restricted. Port City classes will run a draw/passing points format.
The Terry Walker Memorial will be preceded by Practice on Thursday, May 4. Pits open at Noon with cars on track at 5:00 P.M. (CDT).
Pits on Friday, May 5, open at 4:00 P.M. with Grandstands opening at 6:00 P.M. Hot Laps get underway at 7:00 P.M. with racing at 8:00 P.M. Times for Saturday, May 6, will clear pits at 3:00 P.M. with Grandstands at 5:00 P.M.. Hot Laps are at 6:00 P.M., with racing at 7:00 P.M. (CDT). Grandstands are $12 per night for adults, $6 for youth and seniors, and free for veterans,
