Flud, Cochran, Cody, Mclaughlin, Nicholson and Truitt Tame Non-Wing National Opener at Port City Raceway

TULSA, Okla. (June 29, 2019) - Frank Flud, Chris Cochran, Ryan Cody, Brody Mclaughlin, Dave Nicholson and Hudysn Truitt tame their respective USAC fields during the opening night of the Non-Wing Nationals at Port City Raceway.

A staggering 144 entries signed in for action including 37 Outlaws, 48 A-Class, 11 Sportsman, 15 Restricted, 23 Junior Sprints and 10 Masters.

Frank Flud claimed the Non-Wing Outlaw field on the prelim night of the Non-Wing Nationals. Chris Cochran finished in the second spot with Delaney Jost rounding out the podium. Jeffrey Newell was fourth and the top five rounds out with Chris Andrews.

Isaac Barr, Shawn Mahaffey, Ryan Mushrush, KJ Snow and Connor Lee brought up the top ten.

Curtis Jones, Flud, Barr, Mushrush and Snow claimed the nights five heat races. Kris Carroll and Brock Berreth picked up the two B-Feature event wins.

Chris Cochran scored the Stock Non-Wing main event. Chris Andrews finished in the runner up spot with Daniel Shaffer in third. Jason Tracy came across fourth and Brock Berreth from eighteenth to fifth.

Frank Flud from twentieth came up to sixth. Curtis Jones, Gunner Bowden, Ryan Mushrush and Grady Mercer rounded out the top ten.

Phillip Cordova, Bowden, Jones, Andrews, Cade Cowles and Steven Curbow were the six heat race victors. Barr and Berreth won the two B-Features.

From fourth and with two to go, Ryan Cody got it done in the Sportsman class on Friday night. Dave Nicholson was second with Justin Simpson third. Troy Minton took the fourth spot and Kyle Thompson claimed the fifth spot.

Lonnie Fraley, Jr., Blake Kirkes, Bre Lamb, Drew Sawyer and Tim Barnes rounded out the top ten.

Cody and Minton capture heat race wins.

Brody Mclaughlin mastered the Restricted Non-Wing class on the prelim night of the Non-Wing Nationals. Baron Silva finished in the runner up spot. Kayden Cole took the third spot with Kaden Smith fourth and Brock Cottrell the top five.

Jeramiah Green, Hayden Mabe, Conner Long, Alyson Colby and Jackson Berrs the top ten.

Mclaughlin and Smith scored heat wins.

Hudsyn Truitt rallied from fourth to win the Non-Wing Junior Sprint victory. Landon Baldwin fromm eighth finished in second. Cooper Cottrell third with Ayden Parrish fourth and Lane Burnett the top five.

Cale McGee, Sky Bartholomew, Mekentzi Potter, Ryker Griggs and Cooper Stout brought up the top ten.

Truitt, Brody McClelland and Titan Bowden were heat winners. Burnett won the lone B-Main.

Dave Nicholson from the pole won the Masters feature event. Tim Greene crossed in the runner up spot. Ruben Morris took the third spot. Larry Barnes finished in the fourth spot with Milton Goolsby fifth.

Johnny Goolsby, Tony Ogden, Matt Cash, Rob Lamb and John Potter made up the top ten.

Nicholson and Morris won the heat races.

Top 4 from the Junior Sprints, Restricted, A-Class, Outlaw and Sportsman class locked in to Saturdays feature event.

Gates open at 3pm, Hot Laps at 6pm and Racing at 7pm.
