Laplante Sweeps Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Weekend While Andrews and Curbow Produce First Career Series Victories

Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (July 8, 2018) – Ryder Laplante became the first driver to record three Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass feature victories during the same weekend this year when he scored a triumph at Port City Raceway on Sunday.
Additionally, Chris Andrews and Steven Curbow both earned their first career NOW600 Series victory during the weekend finale.
Laplante won the Restricted ‘A’ Class main event for the third straight night and the 13th time in his career. Ryan Timms maneuvered to a runner-up result with Brody Mclaughlin finishing third, Shawn Mahaffey fourth and Preston Scheulen fifth.
Timms, Ryker Pace and Laplante were the heat race winners.
Andrews held off NOW600 Series winningest driver Frank Flud for the Stock Non-Wing triumph. Zac Moody charged from 15th to a third-place outing. Points leader Daniel Shaffer ended fourth and Jake Nail rallied from 17th to fifth.
Flud, Andrews and Curtis Jones each claimed a heat race win and Moody was victorious during the B Main.
Curbow netted his first career Winged ‘A’ Class victory as Flud picked up another second-place result. Moody ended third with Hank Davis fourth and Ryan Timms fifth.
Kobe Simpson, Flud and Caleb Pence each scored a heat race triumph. Daison Pursley won the B Main.
Next up for the series is a non-points race for the Stock Non-Wing division on Tuesday at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla., during a USAC P1 Insurance National Midgets event.
