Jacob Hawkins, Daniel Hill & Trey Watson Grab Topless Dirt Late Model Mania Wins

(Washington, WV) After back to back rainouts the Ohio Valley Speedway would welcome race fans back for the Topless Dirt Late Model Mania. Three Topless Late Model features and a jam-packed pit area would see Jacob Hawkins, Daniel Hill and Trey Watson lay claim to Feature wins. A fantastic night of racing action would see last lap passes, late lead changes and multiple leaders in all classes.

A superb Super Late Model feature that would see a tremendous battle rage throughout the 30 lap main event between eventual race winner Jacob Hawkins, Tyler Carpenter, Ronnie Mayle and Chris Carpenter. Hawkins would hold off a hounding Tyler Carpenter for most of the race as the two sliced and diced around lap traffic in clinical fashion. Disaster would strike Carpenter while running second as the talented racer would head pitside with mechanical gremlins turning the runner up position over to Ronnie Mayle. Hawkins of Fairmont, WV would take the checkered in the CJ Johnson Motorsports #37 entry over Ronnie Mayle, Chris Carpenter, a charging Zach Hill and Todd Brennan.

Daniel Hill from Morgantown, WV took the checkered flag and the $1200 pay day in the Steel Block Late Model Series portion of the Topless Dirt Late Model Mania. Hill driving the Dave Groves owned Rocket XR-1 sponsored by Jack’s Recycling, PWB Handmade, Vandergrift Auto LLC., Rocket Chassis, Groves Racing took the lead on lap 21 of the 25 lap feature event and went on to lead the final four laps over Troy Frazier, Corey Delancey, Zack Milbee and William Rose.

A scant five FASTRAK Late Model would take the green in the third installment of Topless Dirt Late Model action with Weston, WV’s Trey Watson grabbing the win ahead of Donnie Dotson and Sparky Davidson.

A great UMP Modified feature would see Mineral Wells, WV racer Coleman Evans park the Evans Construction/ Lethal Chassis in victory lane with a great last lap pass over race long leader Cruz Vandall to secure the win. Following the duo across the line was Chad Roush, Anthony Arbogast and Kyle Bond.
Toby Wilson of Mineral Wells, WV would pick up his first Pike Street Lanes Sportmod feature event driving the Mister Bee/Welder Man at M.O.V.B.T./ Par Mar Stores Lightning Chassis entry. Following Wilson was Brandon McGrady, TJ Arnold, Brandon Davis, Colton Collins.

It was Vienna, WV’s Justin Carpenter snaring the Bill’s Auto Salvage 4 Cylinder main event. Carpenter would blitz the speedway’s topside lap after lap holding off a game Chris Wise until a mechanical failure would park the 6pac machine. Carpenter would go on to grab his second win of the season in the #17 Acura ahead of James Hendershot, Sam Dickle, Jeff Rankin and Mike Tennant.
The youngsters of the Mineral Wells Tire Center WRA would kick off the show with Logan Perine besting Bryson Long and Cruz Thomas in the Young Guns division. It would be Isaac McLeish going back to back in the Veteran class over Keith Powell and Stephen Sutler.
