MOWA Sprints presented by DynaGraphics/ILMO cap incredible week

MACON, Ill. – Get ready for the only wing sprint car show all season at Macon Speedway when MOWA Sprints presented by DynaGraphics and ILMO bring full body sprint cars to the fast fifth-mile high banked oval Saturday to cap a big week of sprint car racing.

The MOWA Sprint Car Series presented by Casey General Stores races in four states and brings the winged sprint cars to roar around the legendary oval in a display of speed, power and fearless driving by the open wheel stars. Jerrod Hull, of Sikeston, Mo., leads the MOWA points standings with 1,265, ahead of Joey Moughan, of Springfield, Ill., with 1,141. A.J. Bruns, of Lincoln, Ill., is third, followed by Chris Urish, of Elkhart, Ill., in fourth and Korey Weyant, of Springfield, Ill., in fifth.

Racing is just part of the excitement. It’s Scout Night, as the Scouts will get the opportunity to participate in the flag ceremony during the national anthem and get a picture with a race car. Scouts and Scout leaders in uniform receive free admission, and Scout parents and their adult children may buy tickets for $10.

DynaGraphics will also hold a contest for a $500 voucher good toward any product in its lineup, including a vehicle wrap. The Decatur-based company specializing in signs, printing and wraps will show off its products, and a lucky contestant will win a prize package valued at $500 from a giveaway during the racing program. The voucher will be good toward any wrap, sign, graphics project or printing by DynaGraphics, 3220 N. Woodford St., Decatur.

ILMO Products will distribute coupons to the first 1,000 ticket holders for a free pair of OSHA approved sunglasses. ILMO is a single-source provider of industrial, medical and laboratory gases in bulk, micro-bulk, cryogenic and cylinder solutions. ILMO offers bulk and residential propane, welding and safety equipment, industrial supplies and accessories, and welder rental and repair services. Based in Jacksonville, ILMO also has 10 locations, including Decatur, Springfield, Litchfield and Mattoon.

Billingsley Towing Modifieds, Street Stocks, Outlaw Hornets, Stock Hornets, B-Mods and the Illinois Lightning Sprint Series will also race. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7. CEFCU Kid’s Club will also meet for the final time this season.

MOWA puts the finishing touch on a great week of sprint car action following the unique doubleheader at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track. On Wednesday, the World of Outlaws brings its high excitement show the lightning fast half-mile track, when King of the Outlaws Steve Kinser makes his final appearance locally as a full-time racer. The 20-time Outlaws champion will go for the win on Hoosier soil in the World of Outlaws’ first appearance at the Action Track since 2006. Reserved seat tickets are available at terrehauteactiontrack.net, and tickets are also available for the grandstand and infield on race day. On Thursday, the rescheduled Jim Hurtubise Classic brings USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series back to the Action Track, where Dave Darland and Bryan Clauson already have USAC sprint victories this season. Grandstand and infield tickets are available on race day only.
