Macon Speedway
Drivers meeting for 2015 set for Saturday, Jan. 3
MACON, Ill. – Another exciting season of dirt track racing is just around the high-banked corners at Macon Speedway, one the nation’s most respected race tracks, so it’s time for drivers to get up to speed on the rules package for the 2015 season.
Macon Speedway will hold the drivers meeting on Jan. 3 from 1-3 p.m. at the Macon Community Center. All drivers are encouraged to attend. The Community Center is located at 1039 S. Woodcock Street in Macon, just off U.S. Route 51. Speedway officials will talk on the rules for the new Crate Late Model division plus any updates to the other classes: Super Late Models, Street Stocks, Billingsley Towing Modifieds, Sportsman, Outlaw Hornets, Stock Hornets, B-Mods and Beach House Mini-Sprints.
Macon Speedway will add the Crate Late Models as a regular division this season, and the B-Mods are expected to run much more than last season. Speedway management will also discuss plans for the upcoming season schedule. Therefore, this is a great time for drivers to ask any questions regarding the season and the rules.
“It seems like yesterday that we enjoyed the season ending banquet for 2014, but we’re already gearing up for a great 2015,’’ Macon Speedway promoter Bob Sargent said. “The drivers meeting is a great time for questions about the schedule and any changes to the rule book for the upcoming year. We encourage drivers to attend, and we’d also appreciate help in spreading the word about this important meeting to start the season.’’
