Hornet World Championships slide to Sept. 27 for wild season finale at Macon Speedway

MACON, Ill. – Drivers just received a little extra time to prepare for the World Hornet Championship at Macon Speedway, because the legendary track announced Monday that it has moved the biggest Hornet program of the year to the speedway’s season finale on Sept. 27. By shifting the program to the last weekend in September, the Hornets get top billing.

The Outlaw Hornets will race in a whopping $300 to win feature plus the chance to take home the Outlaws championship trophy – a definite keepsake for any racer. This is the same style of trophy the guys get when winning on the state fair miles. The Stock Hornets will also run for the Championship trophy as the class gets some of the spotlight at the famed fifth-mile high banked dirt oval on the final night of another spectacular season.

Billingsley Towing Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sportsman and the Illinois Lightning Sprint Series will also race on Sept. 27 to put the finishing touches on those points battles.
