Pro late models, hot dot eating contest and Bud Light Ladies title fight at Macon Speedway
MACON, Ill. – The racing season won’t slow down as Heinkel’s Three Dog Night features some of the best action and fun all season at Macon Speedway. While the racing program features the addition of Pro Late Models running for a points fund and UMP national points, the night includes $1 hot dogs, a hot dog eating contest and free merchandise, including variety meat packs from Heinkel’s. Women also receive half-price admission as the gals from Decatur bars competing in the Bud Light Ladies Night Championship presented by Y103.
Macon Speedway added Pro Late Models to the action including a $500 to win feature. The field will also be competing in a two-night point fund combined with the action at Lincoln (Ill.) The point fund winner takes home an extra $400, with second place getting $200, third grabbing $150, fourth taking $100 and fifth and sixth heading home with an extras $75 apiece.Billingsley Towing Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sportsman, Outlaw Hornets, Stock Hornets and the Illinois Lightning Sprint Series will also race. Grandstands open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7.
In the Bud Light Ladies Night Championship presented by Y103, the winning driver earns a prize package and a trophy goes to the bar she represents. The racers represent four bars:
Rocco -- Jenny Cramer and Dana Damery
Starship Billiards – Dawn Reynolds and Holly Vinson
Woody’s – Laurel Phipps and Brianna Livingston
Pop’s Place – Christine Vogel and Michelle Perry.
Heinkel’s is a Decatur tradition. The wieners and sausages helped Heinkel’s earn the title of Illinois-Indiana grand champion of meat processors in 2013. The company’s smoked turkey legs are favorites at county fairs, theme parks and NASCAR events, so they were added to the Macon Speedway concessions this season. Two meat variety packs will also be given away. The assortment will include bacon, polish sausage, grand champion wieners, Andouille and fresh rope sausage. One of the variety packs goes to the hot dog eating champion and another one goes to a lucky fan. Be on the lookout for free T-shirts and camo hats, because hunters should also think about Heinkel’s during deer season. Last fall, Heinkel’s introduced the newest product to their Venison line-up, Jalapeno & Cheddar Venison Wieners.
