Sportsman Topless 40 set for Saturday, July 12 during Miles Chevrolet Fireman's Ball

MACON, Ill. – Sportsman drivers who call Macon Speedway home are reminded the Topless 40 race is set for July 12, during the Miles Chevrolet Fireman’s Ball.

The Topless 40 is a favorite for fans and drivers. The 40-lap race is highlighted by Sportsman drivers competing with an open cockpit after removing the tops to their cars. The race is an annual highlight among sportsman drivers and loyal Macon Speedway fans.

The special night honors firemen and their families. They are admitted for half price with fire department badge. It’s also Bud Light Ladies Night with the gals from Starship Billiards racing in hornets in an attempt to qualify for the Bud Light Ladies Night championship on Sept. 13. Ladies are admitted for half price.

Billingsley Towing Modifieds, Street Stocks, Outlaw Hornets, Stock Hornets, B-Mods and Illinois Lightning Sprint Series are also racing. General admission tickets are only $12. Children 11 and under are admitted free. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7.
