Second Set of Brothers to Set to Compete at Lebanon I-44 Speedway

Last season, the dirt brothers of William Garner and Shannon Geller took to the asphalt in the Charger division at Lebanon I-44 Speedway and in 2019 another set of brothers will be joining them on the new 1/5-mile inner track. Chris Albright, who is 23 years old, started his racing career last season in the Charger division and now his older brother Jeffery, 27 years old, is joining the fun.
The Albright brothers are from right here in Lebanon Missouri and have been around racing the majority of their lives. The brother’s love for racing stems from their grandfather who was the first race car driver in their family. Their father, Jeff Albright, never raced a car himself, but was on several different drivers’ crews and is now currently the head tech official at Lebanon I-44 Speedway, Lebanon Midway Speedway, and Dallas County Speedway. In the mid-2000s, Jeffery Albright decided he want to give racing a shot. He began racing factory stocks at Midway Speedway and Dallas County Speedway. Later, he moved into the B-Modified division and in 2009 he won the Track Championship at Dallas County Speedway with 14 wins and around 20 second place finishes in that season. Jeffery earned the nickname (The Southern Intruder) when he won the North-South Shootout race at US-36 Speedway. Chris Albright climbed into a Charger last year at Lebanon I-44 Speedway on the asphalt. In his rookie campaign he picked up two feature wins and would have been a threat for the Championship had his motor not blown up toward the end of the season. Chris Albright plans on moving up the ranks in the future and hopefully stepping into a Big 10 Late Model while Jeffery is just planning on trying to beat his brother and have fun in the process.
Jeffery has not climbed into a race car since 2010 but is excited to step back into the sport and trade some paint with his little brother. “We have always been a pretty competitive family. Chris and I were pretty competitive when we raced bicycles against each other,” added Jeffery. Chris expects the competitive nature to carry onto the track, but by no means will it be dirty racing. “It’s going to be pretty competitive. We both race clean, but I expect it to be competitive on the track. I’m going to try and go for that championship and try to keep my brother behind me as long as I can,” added Chris Albright. Chris has a competitive edge over his brother Jeffery as Jeffery has never driven on asphalt, but Jeffery has a lot of seat time in other race cars. Watching these brothers do battle next season will be worth the price of admission.
The March Madness 100 will be the first race of the season at Lebanon I-44 Speedway this season with a date set for March 30th. This event will host all five weekly racing divisions as well as a special 100-lap Pro Late Model Feature and the first round of the Ozark’s Asphalt Late Model Series. Be sure to come out and cheer on the “Battling Brothers” and watch some of the best Pro Late Model drivers in the country wage war for 100 laps and a $2,000 pay day!
