Lebanon I-44 Speedway
The Inaugural Show-Me 300
There is a new event coming to the Ozarks and it is going to be big! The Show-Me 300 is a 300-lap enduro that will be held right here on the High-Banks of Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon Missouri, but this won’t be your average enduro race. This will be the first race held on the “Roval”. The Roval is a combination of our inner 1/5-mile track and outer 3/8-mile track with left and right turns. The event will pay $4,444 to win and will be held on July 27th, 2019. This is going to be a huge event that you don’t want to miss!
The master-mind behind the idea was Lebanon I-44 Speedway’s Tech Official, Jeff Albright. Albright is also the Tech Official at Lebanon Midway Speedway where his good friend, Tim Petty, races Modifieds. Tim recently built a car to race in the Lonestar 600 in Texas and he tested the car at Midway Speedway one night. Albright saw how interested everyone in the pits was in this event and he thought, “why couldn’t we have something like that around here?” Albright thought this event should be different than other enduros, so he met with the Lebanon I-44 Speedway staff and they decided to put this race on the “Roval”. There are no caution flags in this event, although the red flag will be displayed if someone’s safety is in jeopardy. The rules for this event are fairly broad, but it is not always the driver with the fastest car that wins enduro events. Drivers will have to calculate fuel mileage and other factors in order to stay up front and contend for the win. The race pays $4,444 to win to pay homage to I-44 Speedway as the track means so much to the city of Lebanon and Southwest Missouri racing as a whole. The Show-Me 300 will be a one-day show and no other racing divisions will be competing that night as the race will take 3-4 hours. Although this year’s race is just one day, Albright and the I-44 Speedway crew have high hopes for the future of the event. “I would like to see this event as big as the Chili Bowl and maybe even grow into a two-day show,” added Albright. This event is expected to reach racers all across the country and attract drivers from all different disciplines like asphalt oval, dirt oval, and even some road course racers. “There are already about 50% dirt guys and 50% asphalt guys registered. I hope that it is a pretty mixed-bag and I hope that everyone gets very creative with their cars,” stated Albright. We anticipate that this event will continue to grow and become a nationwide marquee enduro event that racers mark on their calendars for years to come.
Preregistration is now open, and the first 30 entries will start in the first 30 spots, while the later entries will start based on a draw. The preregistration fee will be $175, and preregistration will close 60 days before the event. After that, an additional $100 will be added to the entry fee. There will be many fun things for everyone happening on the midway before, during, and after the races such as bounce houses and maybe even fireworks!
