Lakeside Speedway Season Opener Set for Friday!

(Kansas City, Kansas) Kansas City’s longest-running sporting venue is set to host its first night of action for the new season as the Advance Auto Parts NASCAR Weekly Race Series begins Friday. After weather forced the cancellation of last week’s action, drivers and fans are eager to return to the speedway for competition.

Friday’s program features A-Mods, B-Mods, Stock Cars, Pure Stocks, and E-Mods competing in preliminary heat races and main events. TIMES: Pits Open 5PM • Grandstands Open 6PM • Pill Draw Closes 6:45PM • Pit Meeting 7PM • Hot Laps 7:15PM • Racing 7:45PM (or immediately following hot laps).

TICKETS: General Admission: Adults (16+) $15 • Seniors/Military $12 • Juniors (12-15) $5 • Under 12 FREE. Suites: Adults (13+) $20 • Kids (2-12) $10 • Under 2 FREE. Terrace: Adults (16+) $15 • Seniors/Military $12 • Juniors (12-15) $5 • Under 12 FREE. For Suite and Terrace availability call (913) 299-9206. Pit Pass: 7 & Older $35 • Under 7, $15.

For those unable to make it in person, you may watch the event live via pay-per-view by pointing your web browser to www.lakesideSpeedway.TV. Once on the website, in the top left area of the page next to the Lakeside Speedway logo, click on “Upcoming Live” and from there select the event from the menu that appears and follow the payment prompts and questions. The fee is $15.

The following night, Saturday, April 24th, the Great Plains Flat Track (Motorcycle) Series makes its return to the speedway for an evening of competition. TIMES: Sign-in 4:30PM • Practice 6:00PM • Races 7:00PM. TICKETS

Lakeside Speedway wishes to remind drivers and fans to place their votes for Lakeside Speedway for the NASCAR Advance my Track contest, in which the track has a chance to win up to $50,000. Participants may vote 3 times a day every day, until April 27th. Through the ‘Advance My Track Challenge race fans can show support for their favorite NASCAR short track while bringing awareness to the great work each track is doing within their respective communities.
