DeGraffenreid Heating and Cooling Race Night at LOS

Eldon, MO. (07/20/2020) Regular weekly classes continue on Saturday, August 8th at Lake Ozark Speedway as DeGraffenreid Heating and Cooling and LOS are proud to bring race fans all the exciting racing action “The Lake” is known for. Heading into only the seventh points race for most classes, in what should have been the twentieth event of 2020, the Lake Ozark Speedway weekly classes are now reaching the crunch-time of their season-long quest for a championship as less than a handful of races are left to gain positions in the season standings.

Justin Russell #12J, of Henley, Missouri, has had the heaviest foot in the Lake Ozark Speedway Late Model division winning two of the three features raced this season. Russellville, Missouri’s #27 Derek Henson recorded the other feature victory, with rookie driver #11p Curt Potter proving he belongs in the division as the only driver placing inside the top-five in all LOS Late Model races this season.

In their last appearance, the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints continue to raise the bar of great racing action at Lake Ozark Speedway. Mark K. Billings #51 would race his way to the front of the field, from a third starting spot, to claim his first feature victory of 2020. Billings wasn’t without company though as Chase Fischer #22 would be in hot pursuit all evening, never quite gaining enough speed to surpass the leader Billings, placing second in the event. MLS Point Leader Stanley Kreisel #18 would also throw his hat into the ring of front-runners rounding out the podium. Tyler Johnson #7 would earn the hard-charger award for his racing efforts, driving from an eleventh starting spot to place fourth as Tom Brown #b20 placed fifth.

Saturday, August 8th Extra money will be on the line as the always enjoyable Street Stocks tackle the track with $700 to going to the feature winner. In the five features ran in 2020 for the Street Stock class it’s been about consistency and front-running charges for Hartsburg Missouri resident Darren Turner #888 collecting five straight top-fives with a win to add to his hardware. Can Turner earn more trophies this season or will Ted Welschmeyer #21w of Tebbetts, Missouri gain his third feature victory this season along with the bonus payday with the Street Stocks at Lake Ozark Speedway?
