Roth Motorsports attends Duel in the Desert

Friday night found Roth Motorsports pilots Jeff Roth and Joe Godsey in action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Las Vegas, Nev.) for the two-day Duel in the Desert. Drawing 32 Late Models, both drivers failed to transfer out of their heat races, relegating them into a B-Main. Sending the Top 8 into the preliminary feature, Joe scored a fifth-place finish while Jeff finished seventh. With $25,000 on the line, Roth was an early retiree on the 14th circuit while Godsey improved five spots to finish 16th. (Michael Boggs Photography)

On Saturday, Jeff took part in his time trial session but was a scratch from the remainder of the evening. Joe followed up the fourth-fastest lap in his time trial group with a third-place finish in his heat. Starting the $50,000-to-win finale in 12th, Godsey pulled off early on the lap 19 after mechanical issues surfaced.
