Saturday Night Thunder - Ladies Night - Results & Recap
The Jamestown Speedway was back in action on Saturday, August 6th for Ladies Race Night presented by MIX 93.3FM. We have to thank our sponsors and supporters for donating some great prizes for our lady race fans as well Ryan Erdahl (Erdahl Racing) for donating 2 bikes in appreciation of the fans for the rollover fund a few weeks back. The racing action was intense and we had some awesome battles throughout the night. The weather was nice and cool, which keep the track fast and racy.
Overall, we had 92 cars in the pits to do battle.
Congratulations goes out to our feature winners and runner-ups:
Bombers/Pure Stocks - 15 Cars:
- Winner: Jayden Michaelsohn, Runner-Up: Hayden Aberle
- Hard Charger: Jayden Michaelsohn +6 (7th to 1st)
A very good battle between Jayden Michaelsohn and Hayden Aberle up front in the feature. Jayden made the pass for the win with a few laps remaining to pick up his second win of the season. Also, points are very tight in the Bombers. Only 9 points now separate the top 4 in the standings.
INEX Legends - 16 Cars:
- Winner: Donavin Wiest, Runner-Up: Glenn Mitchell
- Hard Charger: Donavin Wiest +8 (9th to 1st)
A very good, clean race for the INEX legends. Donavin Wiest was in another zip code tonight, but a very good battle for second with Glenn Mitchell and Collin Compson. Congratulations to Ryan Erdahl for taking fourth and Evan Hendrickson for taking fifth in his first visit to Jamestown.
Wissota Midwest Modifieds - 25 Cars:
- Winner: Brennon Weight, Runner-Up: Scott Bintz
- Hard Charger: Jim Morlock +10 (23rd to 13th)
The race had a lot of great battles as drivers were running the very top of the Speedway and the very bottom. Brennon Weight made the pass on Scott Bintz on lap 15 for the win as Scott led the first 14 laps. Then, Scott had to hold off a hard charging Lucas Rodin to take home second.
Wissota Street Stocks - 15 Cars:
- Winner: Kyle Anderson, Runner-Up: Billie Christ
- Hard Charger: Dustin Erickson +8 (15th to 7th)
Billie Christ got by Chris Ritter early in the race as Kyle Anderson was working his way through the field. Kyle got to second with about 10 laps remaining and was right on the bumper of Billie Christ trying to get around him on the top and bottom of the track each lap. Kyle finally got a run to the high side of Billie coming out of turn four for the white flag and made the pass for the win through turns 1-2 on the last lap in a thrilling race.
IMCA Modifieds - 15 Cars:
- Winner: Andy Kapp, Runner-Up: John Nord
- Hard Charger: Scott Gartner +7 (10th to 3rd)
Andy Kapp got the lead early and race a flawless race to win his FIRST career feature race! John Nord was trying to track down Andy as Scott Gartner went from 7th to 3rd in the matter of 10 laps as he was one of the only drivers working the bottom of the Speedway.
Jr./Sr. Slingshots - 6 Cars:
- Winner: Gavin Edinger, Runner-Up: Tripp Nelson
Once again, thank you to all of the drivers, fans, sponsors, and track personnel that came out to the show on Saturday night. We really appreciate everyone's support at the Jamestown Speedway and we have to thank everyone for coming out. We hope all of the drivers had a great time and hope to see everyone back throughout the season.
