About the Speedway
It's fun, it's exciting, and it's action packed, but the track is nothing without you! The Jamestown Speedway is a 1/4 mile, high-banked clay oval on the Stutsman County Fairgrounds in Jamestown, North Dakota.
We race Saturday nights at 7:00 PM from May through August each year, and end the season in September with the annual Stock Car Stampede, an event that has been running for 49 years and this season (2021) will be the 50th Stampede!
Weekly Saturday Night Racing Divisions Include:
- IMCA Modifieds
- WISSOTA Street Stocks
- WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds
- INEX Legends
- Central Dakota Pure Stocks
- Jr. & Sr. SlingShots
Special events include NOSA 410 Sprint Cars, Wissota NLRA Late Models, Jeff Carpenter Memorial Race, Don Gumke Racers' Memorial, the Dakota Classic Modified Tour, Steffes Wissota Street Stock Tour, the REBEL Wissota Midwest Modified Touring Series, and the long running Jamestown Stock Car Stampede each September!
The season ending Jamestown Stock Car Stampede is a more of a festival than a race each September! Fans and racers start gathering early on the fairgrounds during the third week of September and stay through the last race of the night on Saturday night to crown the Stampede Champions. Thursday Night's Driver Calcutta Charity Auction, Friday night's races, Saturday nights races to crown the champions, Bean Bag Tournaments, Chili Cook Offs, Camp Fire Gatherings, and meeting with old friends from all across the upper Midwest are what makes the Stock Car Stampede Special. It's a festival that has been going on since 1972 and doesn't look to stop any time soon.
