Domer takes second in a row

Last week Chase Domer held on to win a tight race in the USRA Out Pace / McCarthy Auto Group Modified division. This week Domer led every lap and held off Terry Schultz, who sits currently in second place in USRA National points standings for the victory. Domer got the edge on the initial start, using the Humboldt Speedway high line to his advantage. Colton Eck from Goddard ran third, while Jesse Folk Jr and Chase Sigg rounded out the top five.
In Ray's Metal Depot / USRA B Modified action Bonner Springs driver Lucas Issacs out distanced 2015 USRA National B Mod Champion Andy Bryant for the win. Isaacs jumped to the lead from his outside pole position a held off challenges from last weeks winner Cody Jolly. Bryant, Jolly, Tim Van Gotten and Riley Whitworth completed the top five.
In Fastshafts by Axle Exchange Street Stock action, Jay Lamons Jr. continued his dominance of the class, starting on the pole and leading every lap on his way to his seventh A feature win for the season. Tyler James settled for second and Patrick Kay completed the top three.
In the Pure Stock Division, Derrek Wilson picked up his fifth win of the year holding off Chanute's Bryce Weldon and Humboldt's Wayne Johnson for the win. Wilson, starting on the pole, held off early challenges from last weeks winner Matthew Kay who rallied from a spin for a sixth place finish.
A strong Sport Compact class win went to John Willard from St. Joseph, Missouri. Willard jumped in the car than won last week and drove it to McCarthy Auto Group victory lane. Dennis Aiello and Trent Wilson completed the top three.
After a five year absence, the Midwest Mod Lite Series made another visit to the 3/8 mile Humboldt Speedway. 18 cars used the smooth surface and high banks to test their skills. Pleasant Hill, Missouri's Ed Greggs jumped to the early lead, holding off challenges from Dillon Rafferty and David Rafferty. Humboldt Speedway Officials and Fans wish to send their prayers to Mod Lite driver Justin Rafferty would suffered a severe hand injury in the A feature.
Next week Humboldt Speedway and the Allen County Fair host weekly racing, come out to support the Fair. August 5th the USMTS National Modified Touring Series visit the Hummer in their annual Hunt for the Casey's Cup powered by S & S Fishing and Rental.
