Thibodeau Celebrates First Sportsman Modified Victory

Hudson, NH- As the Original Family Fun track returned to day hours it means one thing, Summer is coming to an end. To celebrate the track held back to school day giving out back packs to kids preparing to start school this coming week.

Granite State Indoor Range Six Shooters took to the track to do battle. The race would be slowed by one caution flag. Steve Miller Jr. in car #79 led every lap to capture the win. The real excitement was the three-car battle for second that came down to the last lap to shake out. Michael Yeaton in car #25NH used a three wide pass to capture 2nd. Steve Miller Sr. in the #68 settled for 3rd with Trystin Bodwell (17x) in 4th and Mike Comtois (52NH) in 5th.

Ridge Runner action roared onto the track for 25 laps. Ricky Marrocco in the 7 would start on the pole and lead the first 5 laps before Zac Fraser in the 37 was able to take the top spot away. Fraser would hold of Brian Caswell in the 47 during multiple restarts, which allowed Fraser to finish 1st and forced Caswell to settle for 2nd. Marrocco was able to hold on to finish 3rd. Scott Bernier in the 54 was 4th and Callie Osborne (59) rebounded from a late race spin to finish 5th. In post-race technical inspection Fraser and Bernier were disqualified. This made the top 3 Caswell, Marrocco, and Osborne.

Pro- 4 Modifieds rolled into town for some nerf bar to nerf bar action. Peter Schwarz in the 25 started on the front row and wasted no time taking the lead as he led the first 7 circuits. Jack Dumas in the 4xl took the lead in lap 8 and looked like the car to beat. Unfortunately, a late race restart would be exactly what Rob Ricardi in the 0 would need to get himself into the lead as he led the last 4 laps to take the win. Dumas would finish 2nd with Jeff Heath in the 36 rounding out the top 3!

Northeast Auto Import Super Streets rolled onto the track and go green to checker in under 7 minutes. Chuck Dehney in the 33W led flag to flag to take the win but he would feel pressure for most of the race from Andrew Morin in his brand new #30 machine. Morin finished 2nd with current division points leader Justin Beecher (57) finishing 3rd. John Sousa (8) held on for 4th and William Clement Jr. (33JR) rounded out top 5.

The MacMulkin Chevrolet Sportsman Modifieds went green to checker in their 30-lap feature and would see a first-time winner. Herve Thibodeau in the 2 would lead every lap in dominating fashion to capture the win. Hayden Grenier in the 83 would put together a solid race to finish 2nd with Tyler Leary in the 11x finishing 3rd. JT Cloutier (13) was 4th and Cole Littlewood (73) finished 5th.

MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks saw some new faces join in the fun but in the end it would be the familiar face of Carlos Grenier (1NH) taking the win. Grenier took the lead from the 71 of Shayla Kirk who led the first 7 laps. Rookie driver Bobby Payne (17) entered the day with points lead ended up finishing 2nd. Kirk held on to finish 3rd as she held off the hard charging 21 of Mackenzie Belisle who finished 4th with Chris Quin in the 76 in 5th.

Also in action was the Hudson Hippos which took to the track for the 2nd time this season. This division of mini vans had the fans on the edge of their seats as they battled side by side. As the dust settled, we found the 73 of Cole Littlewood in victory lane. Then to end the evening the 6/8 cylinder enduros took to the track with Buddy Wilkins taking the win.

Hudson Speedway is back in action with a special FUNday on Monday September 2nd. For full details check out hudsonspeedwaynh.com.
