MYERSTOWN, Pa. (May 2, 2016) – After a wet weekend in Central Pennsylvania, resulting in three consecutive rainouts and cancellations, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks will begin preparations for a major weekend of competition in western Ohio.
Marks, pilot of the familiar Brent Marks Racing, M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Russell Heller Builders, KC Automotive, No. 19M, will travel over eight hours west to the world-famous Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, this Friday and Saturday, May 6-7, set to challenge the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on the one of the world’s most notorious high-banked ovals. The #LetsRaceTwo weekend at The World’s Greatest Dirt Track will host back-to-back complete programs for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars, as well as feature the nation’s premier non-wing warriors; USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars.
Brent Marks will enter the upcoming World of Outlaws doubleheader at Eldora Speedway with some recent success with the nation’s best 410 sprint car pilots, earning one top-five and four top-ten finishes with the series in 2015. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania, native made two starts with the “Greatest Show on Dirt” in 2016, highlighted with a 13th place performance at the Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, in late February.
“Couldn’t be more excited to get back to Eldora Speedway,” explained Brent Marks. “I wish we had an opportunity to race there more often to be honest. This is going to be an awesome weekend. To have both national series there, wing and non-wing, makes it really special for the fans. The atmosphere at Eldora Speedway is like no other. Just pulling into that place is enough to get your adrenaline pumping. We want to represent our area well this weekend and earn two great finishes.”
After spending two days on the western edge of the “Buckeye State,” Brent Marks will trek home and visit Susquehanna Speedway on Sunday evening, May 8. The Kevin Gobrecht Classic will headline competition at the York Haven oval, a second appearance by the 410 sprint cars in 2016.
