Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (Oct. 13, 2016) – Jack Dover enjoyed his debut at Eldora Speedway, where he rallied for a top-10 finish and earned the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars last Saturday.
“I had dreamed of racing at Eldora for a long, long time and we were finally able to make that dream come true,” he said. “Of course you want your dream to end with a win, but we are pleased with how everything ended.”
Dover opened the NRA Sprint Invaders event by qualifying sixth quickest around the high-banked, half-mile oval. He then placed sixth in a heat race to miss locking into the feature. That relegated him to the B Main, which Dover won to transfer into the 16th starting position in the main event.
“I felt like we got better every time we went on the track,” he said. “Eldora is definitely a unique track and one where you need laps to be a contender. We put together good laps in the main event, moved forward and learned some things we can apply whenever we are able to make it back there.”
Dover charged from 16th to a seventh-place finish in the main event. It marked his 32nd top 10 of the season.
Dover will return to action this Saturday when he will make his season debut at Butler County Speedway in Rising City, Neb., where he was victorious three times last year, twice in 2014 and three times in 2013.
