Hagar Closes Season with DNS at East Bay Raceway Park

Inside Line Promotions – TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 7, 2015) – Derek Hagar’s standout season ended on a sour note last Saturday at East Bay Raceway Park, where he piloted a sprint car for Hardy Maddox during the Top Gun Sprints season finale.
“We did a little bass fishing and had some fun after they picked me up from the airport on Friday,” he said. “They’re a good team. It made the trip fun.”
Unfortunately, the action on the track wasn’t as enjoyable.
“We lost oil pressure in hot laps,” Hagar said. “We thought we might have fixed it, but when I pushed off for the heat race it dropped to zero.”
The team was unable to start the heat race and worked hard to remedy the problem prior to the main event.
“I pushed off for the feature and when I stood on the gas it vibrated really bad so I just pulled in,” he said. “It wasn’t a good night, but there wasn’t anything you can do about it. It’s part of racing. Although it didn’t go as planned, I want to thank the team for the opportunity and I hope we get to work together in the future.”
Hagar ended the season with 12 feature victories and 30 top-five finishes.
