Birch Run Speedway 2024 Awards Banquet set for November 23rd
The second year of sanctioning under the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series for the Birch Run Speedway and Event Center ended on September 13th’s Championship night. The season was shortened due to weather, but the drivers fought and clawed to earn every point possible. Now the attention turns to honoring the Champions, top five in points, and Rookies of the Year.
The Birch Run Knights of Columbus Hall (11105 Dixie Hwy) will be the host facility for the awards event. The doors will open at 1 for a social hour, appetizers, and a cash bar. At two o’clock, track announcers Ed Inloes and Chuck Darling will welcome everyone in and talk a little about the 2024 season and what lies ahead for 2025. General Manager Gus Englehardt will say a few words before attendees will begin the dinner portion of the afternoon.
Once dinner is complete, the attention will turn to presenting the awards to the season’s top point-getters. Divisional sponsors and special guests will present each Champion in the four NASCAR Divisions(Wheeler Trucking Modifieds/Kyle Hayden, Limited Late Models/Ed Muckenthaler, Showcase Auto Sales Street Stocks/Kevin Harder, Finish Line Seamless Gutters Pure Stocks/Jim Miller Jr.) with a custom one-off trophy made by Justin Craft from Rod’s Mobile Tire, a NASCAR Divisional trophy, and their championship jacket. Second and third will receive trophies while third through fifth will receive plaques.
Cam DeLong (Nelson Hydraulics American Trucks), Nicholas Murdock (Front Wheel Drives), and Jason Dvorscak (Figure 8’s) will receive the same custom trophy and jacket with second and third getting trophies and fourth and fifth receiving plaques.
Six divisions had Rookies of the Year candidates and they will be recognized with plaques for their efforts. Congratulations to Dalton Worthy/Limited Late Models, Kyle Callahan/Showcase Auto Sales Street Stocks, Brandon Miller/Finish Line Seamless Gutters Pure Stocks, Jason Dvorscak/Nelson Hydraulics American Trucks, Owen Natzel/Front Wheel Drives, and Jason Dvorscak/Figure 8.
There will be several special awards handed out after our drivers are recognized. Then door prizes will be handed out as marketing partners and local businesses have generously donated to provide guests a chance to leave the event with some great winning gifts. Scott Kool Productions will be spinning tunes to close out the day.
