RICKY ELLIOTT WINS THIRD OF SEASON - DONALD LINGO, JR TAKES 7TH LATE MODEL TITLE
One of the best S.R. Pete & Son’s Late Model fields was on hand on Pepsi night. The topless Late Models looked extra fast and provided some great racing. Joe Warren in his small block Ford held off the field for the first six circuits before Ricky Elliott, who had started in eight, went three wide down the back straight with Warren and Kerry King to take the lead.
By the halfway point Elliott started to pull away from King while Hagerstown Speedway regular, Glenn Elliott worked his way from tenth into third. Warren was holding tight to the fourth spot and Mark Pettyjohn was up to fifth.
A close call came for Ricky Elliott with just two laps to go when Kellie Lewis got around just as he was about to move past. The yellow put the field back on his back spoiler but Elliott got a great restart and drove to his third win of the season.
King ended a great drive in second with Glenn Elliott third. Frouth went to Mark Pettyjohn and Amanda Whaley rounded out the top five. With his sixth place finish Donald Lingo, Jr. earned his second consecutive division title and his seventh overall. Heats were won by Elliott and Lingo, Jr.
