JAMES HILL MAKES IT AN EVEN DOZEN IN MOD LITES
James Hill knew that he had clinched the Mod Lite Track Championship before Saturday night’s 15-lap feature but it didn’t stop him from turning in another stellar performance. Harry Mears started on the pole but before on lap was in he got around in the second turn and collected both Ryan Dryden and Brandon Dennis. At the same time Kirk Miles spun to a stop up against the front straight wall.
Back under the green, Steve White would lead the first lap before Tim White shot top for lap two after originally starting in the rear. James Hill quickly latched on to Tim’s bumper taking the lead with five to go. Aaron VanVorst was turning in his best performance of the season and was running a competitive third.
Nick Nash came from 11th to fourth while Dennis marched back from the rear into fifth. At the checkered it was Hill collecting his 12th win of the season and his first championship. Tim White finished a solid second with VanVorst posting his best run of the season in third. Fourth went to Nash and Dennis rounded out the top five. Heats were won by Hill and VanVorst.
