DONALD LINGO, JR. GETS WIN #3 IN S.R. PETE & SONS LATE MODELS
Nick Davis made his intentions known at the drop of the green in the S.R. Pete & Sons Late Model 20 lap feature. Davis shot from sixth to the front to lead lap one. Rob Schirmer held the second spot with Herb Tunis running in third.
Donald Lingo started to thread his way through the top five from ninth taking fourth from Kevin Scott, Jr. on lap four then third from Tunis two laps later. By the next lap he had worked by Schirmer for second but Davis was already a distance ahead.
Lingo slowly began to reel in Davis while Amanda Whaley and Dylan Evans worked into the top five. With six to go Lingo got by Davis for the lead in the one-two turns only to have Davis take it back in three and four.
Lingo then pulled out all the stops on the high groove and shot by Davis going into the first turn with five to go and would never look back. It was Lingo’s third win of the season. Davis crossed the line five seconds back for second with Whaley ending a good run in third. Fourth went to Evans and Tunis rounded out the top five. Heats were won by Whaley and Davis.
