DONALD LINGO, JR GETS 2ND WIN IN S.R. PETE & SONS LATE MODELS

The 20-lap S.R. Pete & Sons Late Model feature was an odd affair. It took three attempts to get the first lap in following a tangle between Dylan Evan and Joe Warren and a spin by Matt Jester on the restart. Amanda Whaley looked to be the strongest on each of the restarts but on the third attempt it was Kerry King jumping out front.

Herb Tunis came to a stop on lap five and on the restart King’s car didn’t come up to speed. Donald Lingo, Jr. was one of the only cars that didn’t get tangled up behind the crippled car and shot into the lead. Ricky Elliott got by Whaley in the scramble and the chase was on.

The rest of the race was all green and Lingo never faltered taking his second win of the season and extending his point lead. “I just saw the green and went, said Lingo about the restart that put him on to. “It’s hard to win here. This is only my second win this season.DSC01081
