BILLY THOMPSON HOLDS OFF DEREK MAGEE FOR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

 

The Crate Models went out fourth on the night for five weekly divisions, and Billy Thompson would be the man to beat. Starting on the pole would be Thompson who had started running strong after taking off a few weeks to completely tear down and redo his entire chassis setup after experiencing issues earlier in the season. Thompson however would not be able to just walk away with a win that easy as he had two time defending winner Derek Magee, all over his rear view mirror.

 

Magee would start the night in the third position, and made quick work of Wes Clifton to move into the second position. From there on out it would be Magee and Thompson out front with everyone else doing all they could to keep up. Former class champion, Tyler Reed would work his way from ninth to third, and was giving Magee all he could handle for the second position. Once Reed started working on Magee, Thompson did all he could to try and sneak away while those two fought for position. In the end, it would be Thompson coming out on top for his first win of the season, and Magee beating out Reed for second.

REMINDER! The World of Outlaws Late Models roll into town on Thursday night! Gates open at 4 pm with racing starting at 7. We will be CLOSED on Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway, but will be having a special Saturday night event at the US 13 Dragway, so come on out! Gates open at 2 pm, with racing action start at 3:30!
