SOCKRITER WORKS THROUGH THE FIELD TO FIND VICTORY LANE IN AC DELCO'S
Rookie George Freeman would lead the AC Delco Modifieds to the green flag for their 15-lap feature on the Norris Bryan Memorial Race. Freeman, who just recently started running at Delaware International Speedway, put together a great ten laps to start the race. Freeman, wouldn’t lead without pressure though as defending class champion Scott Hitchens, would be all over the back bumper of the rookie, but never able to make it by for the lead.
With the laps closing down it would appear that the rookie would be on his way to his first career win in just a small amount of time behind the wheel, but with five to go it was Kevin Sockriter charging hard from his seventh starting position. In just one lap it was Sockriter getting by Hitchens for second, and then quickly made work of Freeman for the lead. Sockriter would begin to quickly check out on the rest of the field as he drove onto win the race, and coming along on right behind him would be his teammate Jordn Justice running second to really put a great ending on their night.
Heats were won by Scott Hitchens and Nick Alberti
