ELLIOTT WINS LUCKY 13TH IN SUPER LATE MODELS
Ricky Elliott showed no signs of slowing down as he continued his winning ways in the 20-lap R.C. Holloway Super Late Model feature. Once again Elliott captured his heat and a zero inversion draw put him on the pole for the feature.
Elliott took off at the drop of the green with Nick Davis chasing in second. Amanda Whaley and Donald Lingo, Jr. were putting on a good battle for third and David Hill was on the move in fifth. Hill continued to work his way forward climbing to third by lap ten. The one and only caution of the event happened on the next circuit when Bob Geiger got around in the fourth turn just as he was about to be overtaken by Elliott.
Elliott escaped the tangle and would put on an error free drive to his 13th checkered of the year. Davis ended a solid run in second as Lingo, Jr. came on strong to finish in third. Fourth went to Whaley and Hill rounded out the top five. Lou Johnson captured the second heat.
As part of the “Tribute to Kramer Williamson Elliott commented on Williamson in victory lane. “I want to tell everyone that Kramer Williamson was a friend of mine and my wife’s, said Elliott. “He was a great guy. I knew the guy for 26 years and when I ran some URC races he was the guy that talked to me and helped me.
