DELMARVA RACING COMMUNITY MORNS THE LOSS OF KRAMER WILLIAMSON
By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE = The Delmarva racing community was shocked and saddened by the passing of legendary sprint car driver, Kramer Williamson on Sunday. Williamson was involved in a heat race crash at the Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night and succumbed to his injuries early Sunday evening.
Williamson was a three time URC Sprint car champion, a track champion at several tracks including Williams Grove Speedway, a Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Car Series champion and a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. His last victory with the URC came at Delaware International in 2011 (pictured).
Kramer was known for his sense of humor and friendly demeanor and was a fan favorite any time the URC Sprints were at the track. His "Pink Panther" sprinter was the most recognizable car in the field and was always a threat to win. Our racing community sends its deepest sympathies and prayers to the Williamson family, friends and all of the United Racing Company family.
