SPARKY WHITE COLLECTS FIRST CHECKERED OF THE SEASON IN CRATES
In the 15-lap Crate Model feature, Sparky White edged pole sitter, Jamie Eichholz at the line to lead lap one. Mike Wharton quickly worked into second with Joe Warren taking third one lap later. White was quick running smooth in the high groove and both Matt Hill and Reese Masiello were on the move. Masiello, who started in eighth, passed Hill to take fourth on lap four. At the halfway sign the top five were White, Wharton, Warren, Masiello and Hill.
While Warren worked on Wharton for second Tyler Reed was making a charge from tenth. Reed cracked the top five with four to go and one lap later took fourth. Things did not go well after that as Reed got sideways collecting Derek Magee, Robbie Walls, Jr. and Kellie Lewis. This set up a on lap dash to the checkered. White, a fourth generation driver, made no mistakes and raced to his first win of the year. Wharton and Warren rounded out the top three. Fourth went to Masiello and Hill rounded out the top five.Hill set fast time in qualifying.
