MATT HILL'S GETS FIFTH WIN IN CRATE MODELS
Tyler Reed and Mike Wharton took the heat wins in the Crate Models. A six car inversion however would put Billy Thompson on the pole with Matt Hill and Randy Given in row two. Thompson led the first two circuits while Hill and Mike Wharton battled for second. The first of two yellow came out on lap two when Kellie Lewis got around. On the restart Hill battled by Thompson to lead lap four. Two laps later Wharton got by Thompson for second.
The $50 S.R. Pete & Sons halfway bonus went to Hill followed by Wharton, Thompson, Joe Warren and Robbie Walls, Jr. in the top five. Hill began to open a lead as Warren climbed to third and Tyler Reed entered the top five. The second and final yellow was out with three to go when Given, Lewis and Zac Weller tangled in the third turn.
Warren got to second with one lap to go but had no time to catch Hill who drove to his fifth win of the year. Wharton held on to finish in the third spot with Reed fourth and Wall, Jr. fifth.
