TYLER REED NOTCHES 2ND WIN IN CRATE MODELS
The four car Crate Model inversion put Michael Wharton on the pole with Sparky White in second. Dylan Evans jumped up to second at the start behind Wharton and Matt Hill quickly worked into third. Just before halfway Hill got by Evans for second and quickly closed on Wharton. Hill’s challenge would end with five to go when he slowed with a flat tire.
Tyler Reed had been working his way through the top five and was now running in second. Just as Reed got by Wharton to take the lead with two laps to go, Wharton began to slow and would come to a stop bringing out the yellow. On the restart Evans was the next car to bring out the caution as Eric Vent moved into the runner-up spot.
A third restart with two to go saw a pileup of cars in turn three which included Reese Masiello, Steven Baker, Mike Parsons, Robby Cain, Tim Young and Randy Given. Reed stayed in charge for the final two laps to post his second win of the season with Vent second and Joe Warren coming on strong in the late stages to finish in third. Fourth went to Derek Magee and Robbie Emory rounded out the top five. Heats were won by Hill and Evans.
