SEVERE WEATHER ONCE AGAIN THWARTS DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE – Last weeks’ racing program at the Delaware International Speedway just managed to get in before a severe thunderstorm hit the area. On Saturday the speedway cancelled its program early in the afternoon due to the forecast of severe weather. As predicted a storm front hit around 6 p.m. with rain and high winds and for the eighth time weather wreaked havoc with Saturday night racing.
This Saturday night will be the rescheduled “King of Kings dash for Super Late Model feature winners this season. Winners in the five weekly divisions will earn guaranteed starting spots in the Fall Championship plus the Vintage Stock Cars will be in action. Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 p.m.
