JIMMY WILLS REPEATS IN DELAWARE STATE MOD LITE CHAMPIONSHIP
It took three attempts to get the first lap in of the 20-lap Mod Lite Fall Championship. When it finally did get in it was Jimmy Wills getting past pole sitter, Ray Gulliver to take the lead. Mike Stratton quickly worked into second and was able to stay on the back bumper of Wills. Third position developed into a battle between brothers Jason and Landis Musser.
While Wills and Stratton paced the field Nick Sapp was on the move taking fourth from Landis Musser on lap five and third from Jason Musser one lap later. By halfway Nick Nash had worked into the top five.
Sapp got by Stratton with three to go setting up a three car battle for the lead. Nash got around bringing out the yellow on the final lap. On the restart, Stratton regained second but Wills was not to be denied as he darted to his second straight Fall Championship win. Rounding out the top five were Stratton, Sapp, Jason Musser and Landis Musser. A good field of 21 cars took the green. It was a big payday for Wills who earned a total of $1490 for the win.
