By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE – For the fifth time in seven weeks rain washed out action at the Delaware International Speedway. The track now sets its sites on a big Labor Day celebration.

This Saturday night, September 1st the United Racing Company will make its third and final visit of the season along with the NAPA Big Block Modifieds, the Super Late Models, AC Delco PSC Modifieds, Crate Models and Mod Lites. The last time the URC sprints were at the track Ed Aiken earned his first Delaware win in a classic battle with veteran Kramer Williamson.

Fans will be treated to more than just racing as several organizations have pitched in to provide lots of giveaways. The first 400 fans through the gates will receive either a URC hat or a racing T-shirt from the Delaware Office of Highway Safety.

Thanks to the efforts of track chaplains Senior Pastor Mike Mills and Development Pastor Dave Wilcutts of the Freedom Worship Center of Milford, Del. and driver Robert Dutton and his wife Tracie there will be lots of other giveaways during intermission. The group has joined forces with other churches in the area for a “Night at the Races They have gotten donations from area businesses that will be part of the Delmarva Driver’s Club 50/50.
