TRENT WILLEY HANGS ON FOR FIRST WIN IN AC DELCO MODS

The 15-lap AC Delco PSC Modified feature was a mess taking almost 40 minutes to run. Adam Weber started on the pole with the 10 car inversion with Nick Nash second and Drew Simmons third. Multi-car tangles on laps two and three involved a total of 12 cars with most able to continue.

With the cautions, Jordan Watson, who had set fast time in qualifying, had worked his way past Eric Humlhanz into the top four by lap four. Watson took third one lap later as the caution flew for the fourth time.

Willey found himself the new leader but the race was far from over. It would take five restarts to get lap 14 in. Willey maintained his cool and drove to his first win of the season and the second of his young career. Steve Baker came on strong in the closing laps to finish in second. Drew Simmons crossed the line in third but failed post-race tech for a shock absorber violation moving Joseph Tracy to third. Jeff Coffey crossed the line fifth but all the caution laps had taken their toll on his fuel consumption and he was too light at the scale moving Norman Short to fourth and Herbie Hempel posted a personal best in fifth.
