James Giossi

Month of Money

Saturday night it was back to Cedar Lake Speedway for the $5,000 to win show during the month of money. James had picked up the win last year and was looking to do the same for 2021.

Once again, Giossi was unlucky in the pill draw. Starting towards the back of the pack, team 11 had their work cut out to pass some strong cars ahead. Giossi would start out in 7th needing to gain quite a few spots to make the redraw. Unfortunately, the track would be very tough to pass on as the high side was dominant. As James took the green for the final heat race of the night, he found himself behind a 3 wide pack for several laps. Giossi was stuck in his starting spot for the first few laps. As the field widened out, James started to work the middle and advanced one position. With the track being very good on the high side, he was only able to advance 1 spot when the checker flew. This would start him 16th in the feature event.

The Late Models hit the track for the feature. Giossi filed in to his 16th starting spot and got ready to do work. The track crew had made some improvements to the racing surface and there were now a few lanes to maneuver. The engines lit up the track and the green was out. Making a couple moves early, James was up a few spots before the red flag came out. There was a pile up in turns 1 &2 blocking the whole track. All drivers were fine and the field lined back up. The green was back out and Giossi went back to work. James made his way up to 7th before a few late race cautions. After the cautions were done, and the checker flew, team 11 would come back with a solid 7th place run.

Tune in this weekend for the Tanner Byholm Memorial and the Twin 25's! As always, stay up to date with current news on the James Giossi Racing Page on Facebook.
