Kyle Hammer
Pair of Top-10 finishes in Bristol Bash; up to fifth in WoO standings
Kyle Hammer was back on the road with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series as the tour invaded the famed Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenn.) for the two-day Bristol Bash. In a field of 22 cars, Hammer came in fourth-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat race. Receiving the pole position for the $25,000-to-win A-Main via the redraw, Kyle paced the field for opening six circuits until a charging Ricky Weiss snuck by. With another $25,000 prize on the line on Saturday, Hammer pulled the second-starting position for the main event after a second-place finish in his heat race promoted him into the redraw. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish in the 50-lap affair, Kyle notched a sixth-place outing.
With a pair of Top-10 finishes over the weekend at the dirt-covered Bristol Motor Speedway, Kyle gained five positions in the latest World of Outlaw standings, elevating him into fifth.
