White Produces Season-Best ASCS National Tour Result and Back-to-Back Top 10s at Black Hills

Inside Line Promotions – RAPID CITY, S.D. (July 19, 2017) – Harli White recorded back-to-back top-10 finishes last weekend for the first time this season with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

White posted results of sixth and eighth, respectively, during the Rushmore Rumble at Black Hills Speedway.

The event began on Friday when White made her debut at the track by taking advantage of a low pill draw.

“We had a good pill draw at the beginning of the night,” she said. “I started on the pole of the heat race and was able to stay out front, which was what we needed to be in the redraw. That went well.”

Unfortunately, White pulled the second-highest number – seven – during the random redraw to start the main event seventh.

“We didn’t have the greatest pill draw in the redraw,” she said. “Then the track took rubber halfway through the race. I felt like I was faster than a couple of cars, but I wasn’t able to get a good run to pass them.”

White battled just outside the top five throughout the race before ending with a sixth-place result, which was her best finish of the season with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. That gave the team momentum entering the event finale on Saturday.

“We didn’t draw the best pill to start the night,” she said. “We started sixth and passed a couple of cars in the heat race, but that wasn’t enough to get us in the redraw. We started midpack. On the first corner (of the A Main) we got caught up in an accident and we got a flat right rear tire. We started at the tail and drove back to eighth. We were fast and the track was racy. I just ran out of laps.”

White overcame the early incident to rally from the back to an eighth-place finish, which was her third top-10 result with the series in the last four races.

White will make her season debut at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, this Saturday.

“It’s a really good thing that we have some momentum going into Knoxville,” she said. “We needed that tremendously. Last weekend gave me a lot of confidence as a driver and our team confidence.”
