The “Battle at Belle-Vegas III”
Millstadt, IL – Sunday, July 12th the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series will be joined by the UMP Modifieds and B-Mods, highlighting the “Battle at Belle-Vegas III.” The fourth visit for POWRi in 2015, the midgets and micros were last at the historic Belle-Clair Speedway for the slider-fest, final night of Illinois SPEED Week with Tyler Thomas taking the midget feature win and Joe B. Miller holding off Nathan Benson for the win in micro competition. Previous POWRi winners in 2015 at Belle-Clair include Spencer Bayston, notching his first-career POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series victory and Dereck King in the Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series.
In UMP Modified action, Brent Korves took the April, 17th Fan Appreciation event, while Jimmy Cummins won the B-Mod feature. This was the last time modifieds have run at the high-banked 1/5th mile in 2015, not including the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals event claimed by Mike Harrison on Wednesday, June 24th.
