Moser WINS Belle-Clair Season Opener
The 2015 racing season finally got under way at Belle Clair Speedway this past Friday night with UMP Late Models, POWRi Midgets and POWRi Mini Sprints. In the UMP Late Model division, there were 17 cars ready to race.Heat race winners were Richie Standridge and Jake Little. The dash went Little.
The 25 lap feature started with Little and Darrell Moser on the front row. With the green flag waving, Little jumped to the lead with Moser, Greg Kimmons, Standridge and Jim Moon in pursuit.
Little and Kimmons would put on a good show for the fans as they would run together for many laps and would swap the lead a few times. Things were exciting until lap 17 when going out of turn four the front running would tangle and hook fenders and cause a caution. This gave the lead to Moser, who moved up for running Modifieds for years.
Moser would get chased by Standridge and Moon for the remaining eight laps. Moser would go on to win his first feature of the younger season and the first feature at Belle Clair Speedway. He was followed by Standridge, Matt Weidner, Bobby Dauderman and Moon to compete the top five. Weidner cam from ninth and Dauderman came from 12th to finish in the top five.
