Mitchell Davis charged from his 8th place starting position to lead lap one over McMahill who started 6th. Meanwhile Jones, RJ Corson and Alex Midkiff were charging their way to the front. Jones worked his way to third by lap 10 and by lap 12 passed McMahill for the second position. On lap 13 Jones made an outside move on Davis to take the lead. From there Jones fended off a late charge from Corson and Midkiff to earn the victory.
At the completion of the event, it was announced that MARA series official Bill Shipman had been fatally injured in a traffic accident on his way to the event.
